Reliability, Accessibility and Maintainability (RAM)

When considering any system, logistics acquisition professionals will all agree RAM is a key element to system success.  If the system is not designed to be reliable, available and easy to maintain that system is destine to fail. G21-360° has been operating for more than three (3) years in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia supporting the Royal Saudi Land Forces Aviation Command (RSLFAC).  G21-360° currently manages all aspects of Aviation Operations, Logistics, and Maintenance at both Al-Kharj and King Khaled Military City (KKMC).

G21-360° is a Web-based system that provides repair part requisitions. The requisitions begin at the Individual Unit, automatically routed up to the SSA level,  ending at the RSLFAC’s Supply Depot in Al-Kharj; all via the network with automated status updates sent back to the end-user in the same fashion.

Aviation Maintenance is accomplished utilizing the built in functionality of G21-360°, insofar as all the same forms and records are represented and fully functional IAW AR 738-751. Practices and procedures emulate the U. S. Army Aviation’s maintenance model, and the same is true for Flight Operations, Supply Chain Management, Property Management, and Information Management.  Statically, the G21-360° system has a proven RAM breakdown as follows:

  • Reliability – Expressed in system longevity, system software error rates and breakdowns that require the system to be taken offline to repair, or makes the system unavailable to the user. G21-360° has an active service record of three years supporting the RSLFAC, with a reliability rate of 99.9%.
  • Availability – This statistic measures the availability for use which is expressed in percentage, and if figured much like aviation readiness is based on the number of hours a month the system was available for use. G21-360° has an overall availability rate of 99.9% for the last three years.
  • Maintainability – Expressed in hardware and software trouble tickets. The number of trouble tickets per month is based on actual software or hardware issues. G21-360° averages six (6) trouble ticket calls per month.  1 to 2 issues relating to software functionality and 4 issues related to individual operator error.

Sustainability

G21-360° is a fully sustainable system utilizing COTS hardware that also supports the use of COTS IPads and tablets.  NO PROPRIETARY HARDWARE  is required for the operation of G21-360°.

Design Standards

AS9100 is the industry standard for developing software that will be utilized within the Aviation and Aerospace industry.  G21-360° was developed and successfully audited to this standard.  This ensures quality standards, graphical user interface standards and standardized terminologies were strictly enforced when developing the G21-360° software.  As part of the AS9100 requirements, the vendor is required to maintain trouble logs, historical software change files and Software Version Descriptions (SVD).

Supportability

G21-360° is fully supported by in-country hardware and software technicians.  More than 194 Software Change Packages (SCP) applied to the system since 2015.  On-site support along with help desk assistance is available 24/7 from the in-country G21-360° system technicians.

Modernization, Scalability and Flexibility

As processes and procedures change, G21-360° software programmers have total access to the source code and can update the software to meet the customer’s changing requirements.  The system was designed as a Military Enterprise Resource Planning System that incorporates Microsoft SQL Server software and Microsoft ASP.net open sourced server-side web applications designed for developing web pages.  G21-360° software can be upgraded to support changing technologies and software communication protocols for future expansion and upgrades.

Military Standards

G21-360° was designed around U.S Army military doctrinal standards.  This ensures that all military specifications for forms, records, regulations and publications are built in to the management system.  For example, in Aviation Maintenance, the e-Form 2408 series form has full functionality and is fully supported IAW AR738-751.  Applicable regulations such as AR 710-2 support logistics functions are adhered to within the G21-360° system.  Electronic Technical Manuals (ETM’s) are fully supported within the G21-360° system as well.
